Beorn the Giant

Fan art of the shapeshifting giant from the Hobbit. Surprisingly, there isn't much art done of him. There's some Hilderbrant bros. paintings and and a John Howe piece but that's all I could easily find.

Beorn instantly became my favorite character after reading the Hobbit this year so I was compelled to to do some fanart! I kinda made him a little less human, like he's already half bear in his giant form.

Enjoy!

(and yes I only read the Hobbit this year. Stop with your nerd judging, I had foreign born parents. They didn't' know/care about stodgy Englishmen that liked to write about hairy dwarves and sexy elves)

Rust Optioned as well

Click on the headline to see the story of Royden's comic being being picked up by Fox to be adapted to film as well.... and the thing hasn't even been printed yet!

WB to adapt Nonplayer

Click on the headline for the article.  TAG's very own Nate Simpson's comic Nonplayer has just been picked up by Warner Bros. to be adapted to film.  Nate also picked up the Russ Manning most promising talent award at Comic Con 2 weeks ago.

Beware of Small Woodland Creatures!

I did this for Paizo Publishing's "Misfit Monsters Redeemed" book. Here it is with the logo:

Sorry I can't make it to this weeks TAG, Emily and I are going to be promoting her book at Gen Con. I'll have plenty of nerd stories when I get back though.

Kabam is Hiring

Click on the title for the link...  It looks like they need a variety of folks... Lead Artist, 2D artist, UI artist, Game Writer, Production Managers.  It appears that they have offices in SF and Redwood Shores (By Redwood City in the Bay Area... not far from where I lived about 3 years ago).

It looks like this company is trying to bridge the gap between Hard Core games and Social games, throwing some MMO elements in for good measure.  This might be a pretty good bet... Zynga's move into the Hard Core-ish game field, Empires and Allies, is doing pretty well on Facebook.

I would, of course, hate to see any TAG members leave the Seattle area, but I know there are folks who are looking for work and I wouldn't want them to miss out on an opportunity.

Americas Fighting Dinosaur

Hey gang. I wanted to hare a project i've been working on. And to show this isn't just shameless self promotion, there is a TAG connection. I've been working on a short film project about a T-Rex that fights in World War 2, probably with some photo and video manipulation and some expert interviews. I did quite a few sketches of my main character at TAG, which are nothing to write home about, but I was pleased with the results once they were modeled in 3D. Enjoy!

You can see more at http://americasfightingdinosaur.blogspot.com/
Thanks!

Whoops?

Did I accidentally delete Stan's post?  If so I'm terribly sorry!  I had posted something here that I had meant to post elsewhere and deleted that post... I didn't think I deleted anything else, but now I don't see what Stan had posted.

At any rate, Stan!  I'm so sorry!  I'm such an idiot!

Skull & Scart

I actually had enough time at the last TAG meeting to get a drawing done!  Amazing!  I know it's rather generic, but it's done!  That's gotta count for something, right?

Getting ready for ECCC

Had a good time at TAG last guys!
Here's some stuff I'm doing for the upcoming ECCC...

This is the drawing for the sketchbook I'm putting together, hopefully in time for ECCC!

And here's the piece I did for their Monsters and Dames charity Souvenir book. Actually this pic is updated compared to the one being created for the book. I had to get it done for the deadline but wanted to tweak it a bit further.
