Hay guys! It's Emily from the TAG. This is just a painting I've been working on for a little bit. Trying to expand my background illustrations. :) Lemme know what you think!

I think this is very nicely done. It's a very convincing environment. The only suggestion I would make is that you might want to add something to give a sense of scale... this could be a mountain in a desert or a rock sticking out of a single dune.

Another thought has occured to me... you might want to add a bit of collected sand in some of the cracks of the mountain. This would ground it a bit more into the rest of the desert.

Ooooh. Good ideas, Rick! I was making a story around the environment while I made it (something I've done since childhood) and was going to add a figure in there for a sense of scale, but decided against it at the last minute. The mountain was supposed to be very far back and untouched by the desert (a boy from a desert tribe is ensconced by the difference and beauty of the mountain, so untouched by his sandy home) but looking at it again, I may have made it too dark. Tsk tsk.

I'll make some edits, or another environment, and post again!
