Inspired by Rich's Otter Pop paintings, I've embarked on tracking down product mascots from their humble origins to where they are now... here's the first entry...

Cat Faces

I doodled these during a meeting the other day, then played with them a little in Photoshop. Who needs appendages, anyway?

This image is from a flyer I am working on for my daughter's 6th grade "Tea"... I guess this is sort of like a graduation event.

Man, I sure am late with this but it's better late than never huh?

I haven't been able to scan any of the pictures I drew on the night (all of them being rather lewd :s), but I can atleast show you a direct result of the meeting.

This is a WIP of Sam the Swamp monster that I created on this fateful May Tuesday, he started off as a fun brainfart but I'm afraid I have developed it into something more.


Next time I definately want to get a prompt from someone. :D It was super fun!

My first TAG night

I can't say I was particularly productive or that I busted out anything fantastic but here are the doodles that actually look like something. I did a quick 5min color job on the rocking hot dog with the power of photoshop. It was fun hanging out and hopefully next time I can stay until the end!

Thanks to everyone who showed up last night! It was a great crew of folks and a lot of cool drawings and discussions where had. I will be sending out admin invites shortly to those who don't have them yet to encourage people to post their drawings.

In hindsight, I can see that I kept up with Creeple pretty well, posting pretty regularly. Tux... not so much. Feedback is welcome!

volksrod sketches

this is what im workin on at the moment, trying to do some "volksrod" cartoonee hot rod pics, am actually thinking of inking them, like real ink, with a real pen, on (you guessed it) real paper. i got some other pics to post, i will do so forthwith.

TAG meeting for May!

The next TAG meeting is coming up... on Cinco de Mayo! It wasn't really my plan to hold it the same night as the famous celebration of a Mexican military victory, but I guess it works. Perhaps I'll bring some chips and salsa...

At any rate, before you head over to Mama's for some margaritas, come by and do some sketching first! If you want more info, contact me and I give you the details!

Web Comics Podcasts

I have 2 podcasts to share concerning webcomics that may or may not be of interest to you folks... the first one is created by Tom Racine, a card carrying nerd who I used to work with many years ago. He interviews all sorts of cartoonists both print and web based:

The other is hosted by 4 popular webcomic creators who talk about their own webcomic experiences and interview others. They can get off subject for long periods of time, but there are some good nuggets of knowledge in there. These guys wrote the book about webcomic publishing (http://www.pvpstuff.com/howtomawepor.html)and Scott Kurtz (PvP) is moving to the Seattle area soon and may join TAG when he gets here.
